Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants met personally to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Ex two time world title holder Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
Despite such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
However, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making huge paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional stare-down, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
