Skydance Paramount Will Remove Around 2,000 American Positions – Update

Paramount Skydance is scheduled to start large-scale job cuts during the week starting 27 October, removing nearly 2,000 positions in the United States within a budget-saving initiative totaling $2bn under CEO David Ellison.

The workforce reduction are a result of the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized this past August worth $8.4bn.

Additional global layoffs are likely, with the company intending to reveal complete information via its Q3 financial results on 10 November.

Previous updates suggested that Paramount was looking to reduce between 2,000 to 3,000 jobs before the start of November.

As of December 2024, Paramount retained nearly 18,600 full- and part-time employees along with 3,500 project-based staff.

The company did not immediately respond on the matter.
