Toy Story 5 Teaser Sets Woody and Buzz Versus a Tablet Computer
It has been 30 anniversary since the original Toy Story movie was released, establishing the animation giant as a leading animation studio and introducing viewers to iconic characters like the cowboy doll (the actor) and Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), who are now household names.
Coming in 2026, the fifth installment is scheduled for release. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 appeared recently, offering a brief look into the storyline but leaving viewers wondering how it will address the conclusion of Toy Story 4.
The Latest Addition: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Spooks the Gang
In the teaser reveals the young girl — who received Andy's toys when he left for college — receiving a brand new plaything, one that alarms the familiar toy group. Bonnie gets her initial digital gadget, and she is thrilled about it.
Presumably, the frog-shaped tablet will animate just like Bonnie's other toys. However, the characters seem to view it as a danger coming to replace them, which it likely will.
The Cowboy's Comeback: Unanswered Questions from Toy Story 4
One thing the teaser doesn't touch on is why the sheriff is back with his friends in the child's bedroom. The finale of Toy Story 4 depicted him embark on a fresh journey with Bo Peep (the actress), journeying with a fair and helping giveaway items find good homes.
Certainly, the filmmakers will address the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the film. Seeing him appear in the familiar setting without warning is a little strange, however. It also makes us wonder whether his partner will have returned with him. And what about Duke Caboom (the star)?
Continuity from the Last Installment
At the very least, some elements are continuing from the earlier movie. The last thing the cowboy did before setting off for his new life was pass his sheriff badge to Jessie (Joan Cusack), entrusting her in charge of the toy domain. The clip displays the badge attached to her outfit.
It is hoped she is remains the key figure among the group.
Toy Story 5 debuts on the scheduled date.
